Cons: scantron exams
2. Lots of opportunity to earn points (homework, lab worksheets, quizzes, & tests)
Cons: 1. Mumbles
2. If the 5 people in the front say they understand, then he believes the rest of the 85 people get it
3. When questions are asked, he says he will answer it later, then never does
4. Talks too fast
If you are not good at math, then I would not suggest taking STAT 201 with Ketelsen. He does not like to be bothered with questions, including ones over e-mail, so if you need help, you will have to find a different teacher or take advantage of the free tutoring in TILT. I was told that STAT 201 was a very easy class by fellow "non-math" majors. However, I left every class feeling completely confused and like I wanted to Withdrawal or Repeat/Delete it. He does not know how to explain things to students who are not math majors.
Cons: 2. not a real class. all the tests are online, as well as the hw assignments.
i took kirk's stats 301 section 006 Tuesday / Thursday. i know this is for a different course but I could not find him listed in the stats 301 section. I thought kirk was an awesome professor.
However getting good grades on his quizzes. for whatever reason it was hard to comprehend the answers for the homework assignments he gave, even when he ran through them on class. if he wants the students to do well on the quizzes, he needs to give the exact answers for every question while he runs through them on class. sometimes he would assume that we would know the answers to questions that would be hard to answer.
