I loved going to Bruce's class very interesting. Always on top of current events going on in the world that related to class. Stayed on topic and gives you all the information you need for his test. In order to pass his class with a good grade you must pay attention to the news. His test are very hard and include both multiple choice and essay questions.

Ok I guess I'm the minority here but I can honestly say Kline is the best prof I have had at CSU. Yes he spends a lot of time talking about current events but I thought that was one of the most beneficial parts of his class. The number one complaint big corps have about business students is they know a lot of bs theories but don't know how to apply them to the real world. Kline's teaching style is very informative and he explains how you can use things taught outside of class. He also shows clips on youtube that are both fun and applicable to his class. A fair warning his tests are tough, but they will not cover anything that was not directly stated in the book or in his lecture. I know Kline is going to Italy for the fall but when he comes back I will be sure to take any class he teaches.

Pros: Gave up some extra time to help students
Cons: He doesn't teach you whats on the exam in class, the exams are impossible to pass and impossible to finish in the class time given, there are iclicker points, he relates everything to HP where he also works.
So this is by far one of the most frustrating classes I have taken at CSU. First our class average was below a 50% by the end of the semester. His tests are impossible, though short they require so much work that it is hard to finish the exam in general. The final was only 30 questions and no one finished in under an hour and a half (and we were even allowed a 4X6 notecard). He doesnt teach you what is on the exam in class, instead he relates finance to current events (which arent on the test) and thus the only reason you go to class is to do the iclicker. The homework is very difficult because you have to teach it to yourself, but he does give you the answer key so at least you can get the right answers. A lot of the homework was more so busy work than actual material that was on the exam. I would not recommend this professor if you have to take this class. And I dont know why but he calls it FIN-NANCE instead of Finance.... avoid this professor!

Cons: Avoid this teacher if you possibly can. His lectures are all over the place and it is very hard to know what will be on the test. Most of the class was failing the whole semester. Not to mention he is extremely pompous. I am a straight A student, but was very unsuccessful in this class.

Don't take FIN 305 with Kline. He's a nice guy, and was willing to help me out with a few clarity issues outside of class, but EXTREMELY hard to follow in class. He never posts his notes and often goes through a week or more of class without following his notes - the way he skips around in the subject left me and several other students completely lost as to where he was at and what he was talking about. Further more, his equations don't match those in the book, making it hard to further understand the material. He presented the material as one would to a class of upper-division business majors, maybe finance majors - as a business minor with a totally unrelated major, I have very little background in finance itself. He often referred to the class as a "stepping stone for higher level classes" - this is the highest I'm ever going to get in finance, and knowing this, I feel the class should have been structured so we would understand the basics rather than jumping right into more complex ideas. I've gotten to the point where I read a book or do the crossword in class, as I just get more confused by paying attention. According to my calculations, the class average so far is a 55% - clearly, I'm not the only one missing information.
